As traditional businesses are embracing change due to digital disruption, and adopting new platforms (e.g. mobile, social networking, Cloud, Blockchain, IoT/M2M, drones), evolving technologies, marketplaces, and paradigms (e.g. boundary-free, CI/CD) rapidly, which demands advanced and integrated enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to be able to offer new solutions to customers, suppliers, partners, and so on, the system of engagement (SoE) and system of records (SoR) must work together seamlessly.
Besides manufacturing, distributing, and selling traditional physical goods or services, the system must be re-designed to support new business models. For example: driving marketing activities through social networking platforms, selling data or digital contents or algorithms in a subscription model requires a completely different perspective.
